This paper investigates the profitability of Bitcoin and US equity. More concretely, we inspect the performances of the S&P 500 index and Bitcoin by comparing their returns and volatilities. As a result, we obtain the following significant findings. First, our regression analysis clarifies that for the period after the sudden appearance of COVID-19, there was a weak nexus between the S&P 500 index and Bitcoin returns. In addition, our return and return spread analysis evidences that for this period, on average, Bitcoin returns were much higher than the S&P 500 index returns. Moreover, our volatility and volatility spread analysis reveals that for this period, on average, the volatilities of Bitcoin returns were much higher than those of the S&P 500 index returns....
This study evaluates how strategy implementation affects the performance of regulatory and supervisory agencies in financial services sector in Nigeria. This study specifically assessed how adaptation of technology, strategic leadership, strategic communication, resource availability, and organisational structure affect performance in agencies. This study adopted a descriptive research design to collect primary data from 342 selected staff members of the CBN, NDIC, SEC and NAICOM. Data collected were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the ordinary least squares (OLS) regression indicated that Adaptation of Technology, Strategic Leadership, Strategic Communication, Resource Availability, and Organisational Structure showed a positive and statistically significant (at 5%) relationship with organizational performance. The study concluded that the implementation of strategies can have a significant impact on the performance of regulatory and supervisory agencies in financial services in Nigeria. Therefore, there is the need for regulatory and supervisory agencies to embrace technology to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. Also, staff capacity-building programs and training sessions should be provided to enhance the skills and knowledge of regulatory and supervisory staff in the financial services sector....
This research examines and analyzes international experiences in applying corporate income tax (CIT) accounting, thereby proposing some policy implications to improve the effectiveness of CIT accounting in the context of international integration. To achieve this goal, the study uses the method of reviewing previous studies, analyzing and synthesizing theories, and comparing VN and IFRS accounting regulations in order to examine the differences between Accounting and Finance. In addition, the research analyzes some experiences of countries around the world in applying CIT accounting in the process of international integration. This paper analyses the general corporate governance framework at the international level focusing on the G20 countries and 25 countries from Europe, and its evolution from the beginnings, respectively 1992. It also studies the implementation of the Corporate Governance Code of Bucharest Stock Exchange during the period 2016-2021. To have a better understanding of the historical development main stages and specific concepts for corporate governance, this paper presents the worldwide evolution of the corporate governance beginnings until today and important aspects related to the content of the most relevant economies’ and capital markets’ corporate governance codes. In this context, the present paper contributes to the relevant literature by examining recent data for most developed countries worldwide and Romania for the mentioned six years, respectively the companies listed on the Premium tier on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since the implementation of the new Corporate Governance Code in 2016.
